Education Update
The KBNERR Education team (thank you Ingrid and Conrad!) continued their adventures in place-based education through the fall and early winter. They have led multiple field trips in Seldovia for Science Friday, and were able to provide some Anchor River salmon education to broaden Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s Salmon in the Classroom program by providing juvenile salmon habitat, place-based activities.
Internship Update
KBNERR continues to offer internship opportunities for High School and Kachemak Bay Campus Semester by the Bay students. This fall we were joined by High School interns Brian Talbot and Alma Kedem-Zeligman. They have added new energy, enthusiasm and a youthful curiosity to our office and work! During their time at KBNERR they have helped with field work, organization, plankton monitoring and education.
In addition, SBB intern Chloe Atkins has provided the highest level of education support, marine mammal expertise, and field work assistance over the past semester. We are going to miss her humor and positive energy around the office. We wish her the best of luck in future endeavors and know she will be successful in whatever she sets her mind to!
