We were excited to have the opportunity to partner with the Independent Living Center (ILC) this summer to provide a skill building opportunity for a high school student from Homer Flex. Thomas Allowan joined KBNERR staff in a variety of activities. He helped with monitoring for invasive European green crabs (not yet detected in Kachemak Bay), Beluga Slough Educational Hikes, Discovery Labs, and Kittiwake monitoring on Gull Island and the Deep Water Dock. It was great to have his knowledge and humor on our staff throughout the month of June!
